Weber is well known for bringing a high quality grill, loaded with features at competitive prices earning them a spot on any grilling Mount Rushmore. The Spirit E330 is no different bringing you liquid propane gas grilling with a decent amount of power and an excellent collection of delicious bells and whistles.
This grill has three stainless steel burners and a cooking surface that should be adequate for the average family. Along with the central area, we also have a powerful side burner and a rear searing burner so that the creative chef can flex their ideas to the limit.
With a cabinet style design on wheels for extra storage and mobility for a price around $699, this grill looks to carve out a nice spot at the top of the stylish grills under a thousand dollar market. Versatility, style, and high-quality materials are the name of the game here so does Weber have another hit?
Main Characteristics
This 116-pound grill by Weber favors utility over power to create a grill that is loaded with features, just maybe not the exact one you are looking for.
The main grilling area is 424 square inches, which is not too spectacular, most likely maxing you out at meals for five. It is not all bad though as we have three stainless steel burners that pack a total of 32,000 BTU’s of cooking power. That’s reasonable for a three burner setup though you might expect more power at this price range.
Weber hopes to make up for these flaws in the customer mind with their commitment to quality while a 12,000 BTU side burner helps. Bringing up the rear, we have a rear mounted 7,500 BTU searing burner. Most grills opt for a rotisserie kit in the back, but this burner brings a far eastern style to the grill worth some appreciation. The side burner is also stronger than the common 10,000 BTU models.
Whats over top of the burners can often be nearly as important as the burners so thankfully Weber delivers. Porcelain enameled cast iron grates give you a durable surface as well as cleanability only a step below stainless steel. The warming rack is also made of similar material measuring out to 105 square inches. Not the largest or most powerful setup but the extra utility makes up for it.
Pros
- Well built with stylistic use of materials makes for a grill that is sure to impress anyone who looks its way
- Added versatility of a strong side burner and a rear searing burner make for a rare package even among similarly priced competition
- Loaded with extra features to enhance the ease of use as well as the flavor of the meals produced
Cons
- $600 dollars is still a decent amount to pay for a grill thats main quality above competition is the strength of its brand and the style of its design
- The main cooking area is not that big though that is made up for a bit with the extra burners
- The power this machine puts out is kind of low especially when you consider how it only has three burners.
Design
One of the brightest points of this grill is the design. This grill looks great especially if you prefer dark tones. Weber used a dark silver and black well to create a grill that looks about as good as a grill can for under a thousand dollars.
The control panel features multi-colored controls that clearly tells you which part of the grill you are operating. Underneath that, we have a cabinet style design with a single handle that leads to a shelves storage area, excellent for storing any condiments, or refreshments. The extended base reaches over four caster wheels with locking mechanisms for working with different surfaces while maintaining mobility.
From the mainly black firebox to the dark steel side arms the best description for this grill starts with the word sleek.
Special Features
Weber is well known for applying the appropriate amount of goodies to match their price range, and the Spirit E330 is wise to their ways.
First, we have the porcelain enameled Flavorizer bars which are seated between the burners and the grates. These bars are set up in a V formation and work by vaporizing the excess juices from your cooking to feed them right back up into your meal. That does wonders for the flavor for your food and makes for a great addition to any grill master who wants to create food with a slow cooked smoky flavor.
They also shield your burners from port clogging debris and with their utility make the grill overall a bit easier to clean.
An exterior lid thermometer allows you to monitor grilling temperature accurately. Finally, we have a crossover electronic ignition system that allows this grill to quickly and simultaneously light all of its elements. A reasonable package for a mid ranged grill.
Warranty
You don’t reach the top of the grill market by skimping out on warranties, so Weber provides excellent coverage for this Spirit Series grill. We have a ten-year warranty on the cook box, lid assembly, and the stainless steel burners. Following that up we have a five-year warranty on the stainless steel cooking grates, porcelain enameled cast iron cooking grates, and porcelain enameled Flavorizer bars. All other parts and paint come with a two-year warranty.
