Firstly, in my Napoleon Grills Rogue 425 review I have to say – Napoleon may be best known for packing a surprising amount of power behind a less than a spectacular figure, though I don’t know if they kept that in mind because here we only get the first part right. We have a surprising amount of power behind a visually stunning stainless steel grill. Relatively appropriately price with a tag that sits right around $900 dollars this is a mid range gas grill with the features to back it up.

Any grill that is made primarily out of stainless steel already sits itself in a different class, however just like the saying goes it is what is on the inside that counts. With that as a goal they made sure to give you ample stainless steel there as well as a decent sized grilling surface that will suit the average sized family just fine while also being a hit at a smaller sized cookout.

Napoleon did a great job covering the basics and then they went the extra mile in may places that we will address along the way. This is a strong statement made to show that maybe Napoleon does belong with the Weber’s of the world.

Main Characteristics

When you get into the middle range of grills certain aspect become common even though they should always be appreciated. A good example of that comes with this grills wave style stainless steel cooking grates. While most grills in this range offer this the wave design adds a bit of cool factor to matchup with the rest of the sleek design.

The burners are pretty good quality as well providing 36,000 BTU’s from three burners for an impressive 12,000 BTU’s per burner. At this price line you might expect to be pushing 50,000 however when every part is accounted for we end up pretty close. The burner that gets us there is the infrared sizzle zone side burner pushing us up to 45,000 total BTU’s for considerable cooking power.

We have 425 square inches of cooking space with 620 total square inches including the heating racks so you have enough space for a five person family or keeping up with a decent sized cookout with a bit of help. Overall we have a pretty strong base of operations for the rest of this grill to work with. When you strip everything else away the heating setup is still worth north of the half century mark.

Design

Even though this grill feature few areas where it lags behind the emphasis here is still clearly on design. This grill features a unique look that along with the galvanized steel build is sure to standout from across the yard and draw you to some grilling like a magnet.

Even if silver is not your color from the foldaway side trays, to the slanted mirrored venting, and the simplistic yet sleek cabinet doors this grill looks good. We have four rolling wheels complete with locking mechanisms for mobility as well as stability.

The design even factors in favorably to setup time which should not take much more than forty five minutes as opposed to the multiple hours hassle of many mid tier grills. A great combination of style and simplicity that puts this grill right among the top contenders for design against the mid range grill competition.

Special Features

After including a good amount a stainless steel, and a strong side burner this is the area where most mid tier grills make a name for themselves and that remains the case here with a solid list of special features. Starting with the JetFire ignition system that gives you one touch lighting for all of your burners so you get a nice and even cook.

We also have the aforementioned Wave stainless steel cooking grates that give you unique sear marks along with better grease distribution and easy cleanability. Speaking of grease distribution the searing plates between the burners and grates help eliminate some of the extra mess while vaporizing the juices of your food sending them right back into the meal for extra flavoring.

In conjunction with the double tiered lid this make the grill great for smoking as well. The Accuprobe temperature gauge makes for another nice addition for ensuring perfectly cooked meals. You can even cook with charcoal on this gas grill if you like the taste that charcoal provides.

Warranty

With all of that attention focused towards special features and design you might expect to find a warranty that lacks the coverage you prefer. Thankfully that is not the case here as Napoleon offers best in class warranty coverage. Here you have a full lifetime warranty on the hood, lid, base, and cooking grids.

We have a ten year warranty on the burners, along with a five year warranty on the searing plates. Finally every other aspect of the grill has a two year warranty for pretty strong blanket coverage.
